Tisbury Town Hall Site Selection Study

Project Updates

As of October 17, 2025

BACKGROUND

The Town of Tisbury currently operates its services from multiple locations within the Town and seeks to

consolidate as many services as feasible and practical onto one site. Preference will be given to a site large

enough to accommodate both the Town Hall and the Tisbury Police Department.

CHARGE

At its March 11, 2025 meeting, the Tisbury Select Board appointed the Town Hall Location Task Group

to conduct a Site Selection Study for a new, consolidated Tisbury Town Hall.

Members of the Task Group include Lyndsey Famariss, Russell Hartenstine, Rick Homans,

Town Administrator Joe LaCivita and Daniel Phelan.

The Select Board instructed the Task Group to limit its search to town-owned properties and to include both the Town Hall and the Police Department in the Site Selection Study.

The group, through the Town, conducted an RFP process and hired ICON Architects of Boston to assist with the study.

ICON has performed similar work on numerous other municipal buildings, and was the architect for

the recently completed Oak Bluffs Town Hall.

This Site Selection Study shall include a review of all potential town owned location alternatives and contain

all information relevant to site development and use including, but not limited to, size of parcel, accessibility

for services to be provided, space allocation summary per department and schematic design, for a modern-day

town facility. The Designer will be working with the Tisbury Town Hall Location Task Group

throughout the duration of the project.
